Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

My previous watch was another
"My previous watch was another Timex, a solar expedition. The date function jammed a couple of years ago, and the solar charging did not work well in the winter (with long-sleeved clothes). So I put it under a bright light to charge it, and the heat from the light was too much, and the ring around the dial started to melt, blocking the second hand. The instructions were not clear about this aspect - and they did not mention that the second hand behaved differently when the charge was low. I also missed the Indigo feature, so the Scout was my choice for a replacement."

This watch is very good
"This watch is very good quality for the price. I really like the Iniglo feature. The only issue is the strap. It is very good quality, but the side with the clasp is to short. I have normal sized wrists but this doesn’t fit right. I ended up buying a different strap. The section with the clasp should be about 1/2” longer. Shipping is a bit slow so you should be patient. The packaging and appearance are very good."
