The 40mm stainless steel case and domed acrylic crystal encase a sleek black dial with both 12 and 24-hour Arabic indices and luminant hands for enhanced visibility. Completing the look is a a green two-piece Cordura® fabric top layer strap with leather backing, featuring quick-release spring bars for effortless strap changes on the go.

"I like this watch. I had a cheaper Timex digital Expedition with four impossible, triangle-shaped screws that secured the back plate. Since I don't have - and have never seen a triangle-shaped screwdriver to change the battery, I just opted to upgrade my watch to an automatic. I like the fact that the MK1 is analogue and free of any chronograph/stopwatch/dive meter etc complications. Doesn't even have a date window. I'm retired so every day is Saturday anyway. Just tells time, which is all I need."

After reading all the positive reviews on the MK1 automatic,I decided to gamble and it paid off big. This is a great watch. It wears well, is easy to read, has decent lume and probably most importantly it keeps very good time for a mechanical watch. It looks and acts as good as a Hamilton for a fraction of the price! Yes, you can manually wind the watch yourself by turning the crown clockwise to help start or maintain the movement when it has not been worn for a while. The watch is designed with protection against overwinding during normal use, so you do not need to worry about breaking the springs as long as the crown is handled gently and not forced once resistance is felt.
